2015 H.I.A. Winner – Renovations & Additions $500,001 to $750,000

Over the years, this City Beach house has seen several renovations but the added rooms were so disjointed without any sense of flow. Modern Home Improvers understood that creating additional spaces and addressing the flow of the existing house were equally important in turning this tired dwelling into a contemporary 5×3 family home with multiple living areas and street appeal.

The spartan weatherboard-clad addition was replaced by a spacious master suite featuring luxurious en-suite, ample walk-in robe and a large retreat that opens onto a large balcony under cedar-lined gable.

Downstairs, internal walls were demolished and new living and dining areas created around the new modern kitchen. New laundry was added to the rear and the existing metal patio demolished to make way for a large poolside alfresco entertaining area and outdoor kitchen under the main roof.
